How to reduce the signal transmission(strength) of my ad-hoc network in Windows 7?
I've created an ad-hoc network and I only wanted people near me to be connected. What I mean by near is about 8 feet(2 meters), but I tested (in open area) and people still can connect to my connection when they are about 32 feet(10 meters).
I know I can use WEP and WPA2 security to prevent unwanted users from accessing my ad-hoc network, but decreasing the power is another way to improve security.
I have gone through the settings of my wireless card adapter, but I do not know which part should I change.
Here is the screenshot of the dell wireless adapter setting:

Bro,there is something called SIGNAL STRENGTH. this affects the radius your adapter is broadcasting,100% is full coverage, reducing this % often reduces the covered field.I am not sure about the kind of adapter you're using but with the crappy router I got from streamyx, there is such an option.Try typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser, logging in and searching for a setting called signal strength or channel strength or anything that sounds similar or has a similar meaning to it.I am sure it will greatly help.. Richard.

Why are the source games disconnecting my internet?
Unfortunately i'm with BT, I use a belkin USB wireless network adapter about 5 metres from my router which is a BT Homehub D072.
Speed: 54.0 Mbps
Strength: 4-5 bars
Home Network
Acer computer
Windows 7 OS
Ok so heres what happens, I launch CS:S, DoD:S, HL:D, or Insurgency. When I try to join a server, if it has to download for a while eventually the internet just DCs. I close the game to see 5 gray bars with a golden star (No connection). I have to wait about 2 minutes for it to come back online. It sometimes disconnects me about 20 seconds after joining a game. (Warning Connection Problem) When it happens I go through to the study and look at the router, nothing but an orange LED underneath "Power" eventually it goes to green and so does broadband etc. No other games do this, just source ones. I can't take it anymore, the amount of shit i've broken in a mad rage is countless. You all know how soul destroying it is when your internet gets DCed even though it SHOULD be connected. Can anyone help?
This is something thats best sorted out with your internet provider.
