http://www.talkingelectronics.com/FreeProjects/FM-Bugs/FieldStrengthI/FieldStrengthI.html However, all digital receivers have built-in "signal strength" meters. They are not really signal strength meters, but measure the error rate in the digital signal; the fewer the errors, the higher the reading. This is better than a real signal strength meter, because you could point your antenna at a location that gives a high signal level but also gets reflections that interfere with the signal. The real signal strength meter could not distinguish that, but the receiver's error detection meter will.
My dad wants a signal to noise ratio meter for Christmas, what exactly is it and where can i find one?
It also might me called a SNR meter or a signal strength meter. Thanks alot.
Any radio shop that deals with CB's or HAM radio systems will have one. A SNR meter is used for balancing radio systems to allow maximum power transfer from the device to the antenna, and from the antenna back to the device.
